World Wide Photo Walk 2010 – Charlotte Area Photographer

Last weekend I participated in the World Wide Photo Walk.  What a cool idea! Folks from all over the world plan walks and other local photographers sign up, show up and take pics together.  There’s such an amazing community of photographers in the Charlotte area I was surprised to see only 2 walks on the schedule.  My options were a walk through Myers Park or a walk through South End.  I’ll be honest – since the light rail came to South End I’ve been dying to get some train pics at dusk, and I’ve always had an odd obsession with the mosaic wall in front of the rail station so this was a really easy decision for me.  The walk was a bit challenging with 4 stitches in my foot:-), but after waiting 2 months I wasn’t about to miss it!  Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day, I submitted this first one into the national contest so we’ll see how well it does!

I totally loved this wall – No Drinking is like a word party while No Trespassing is very serious.  And what’s with the periods after “No”?

A local favorite…if I ate meat I’m sure I’d love this place…

There are some pretty awesome walls in South End – the walk was only 2 hours long, and it was about 100 degrees, but I can imagine on a 72 degree day you could easily spend hours in this area.

And then as the sun was going down I had a little fun at the light rail station….:-)
