Right before we left on vacation I was asked to shoot a women’s event at the Westin during the Wells Fargo Championship week. You never really know what to expect at these big hotel events, so I didn’t really have any expectations at all. I had no idea who the speaker was or really anything about the conference, just that they needed a photographer! I shot the networking event the night prior and I noticed several of the women there looked really familiar I just couldn’t figure out why. Wow, am I totally oblivious to the obvious! But before I get ahead of myself, y’all know I LOVE the details, and what women’s event would be complete without some amazing details?![]()
The breakfast bar at the Westin – yum!

Great salad & dessert for lunch. Wait, was there an entree? Oops, I totally missed it.![]()

The networking event the night before was held at Bentley’s on 27th in Charlotte Plaza. WOW – those views are amazing! It’s possible that I took a few too many pictures of this cheese and chocolate display. Oops.![]()

Simple and elegant centerpieces – love them!
I don’t usually post pictures from a networking event, but I had to post one of Bentley’s just to show off the view – the event was held at sunset and wow – A-MAZING! This pic was slightly before sunset when the crowd was still kind of light, the window totally sold the room.
And here’s where I show off my total obliviousness. All three of these women were at the networking event mingling and chatting all night. Lesley Stahl on the left, Mary Wells in the middle and Joni Evans on the right. Did I seriously spend 2 hours photographing Lesley Stahl and have no idea who she was? Yep. For the record, you would’ve never known she was famous, she was just as down to earth as she could be and super nice! Mary Wells founded her own advertising agency in the seventies (Wells Rich Greene) and eventually became the first woman to take her company public on the NYSE. She’s also HILARIOUS! Joni Evans has had an amazing career in the publishing industry and brought over 100 books to the best sellers list. These three women are not just amazing they’re also great friends and you could tell by the way they interacted with each other on stage. Ten minutes into their keynote and I felt like I should’ve paid to be there – it was a fantastic event! Kuddos to Wells Fargo for hosting an event like this and giving women the tools they need to rule the world.![]()
