On Friday night, the Epicentre in uptown Charlotte was Gamecock’d.
I got there around 5:30 and there were already clear signs that Gamecock Nation was about to take over uptown Charlotte….
On the roof of the Epicentre, Cocky was proudly watching over the Charlotte skyline and all Gamecocks that came to party..jpg)
The Charlotte Gamecock Club put together this amazing pep rally on Friday night before the ECU game. Two live bands, lots of food and drinks (shout out to Moe’s for providing free food to everyone wearing garnet!) and plenty of Gamecock spirit to go around.
As usual, Cocky was a big hit – both his inflatable likeness and the rooster himself.![]()
And then the rain came….and boy, did. it. rain. Gamecock nation moved down to the 2nd floor for some cover and waited for the party to crank back up.
Within an hour we were back on the roof enjoying drinks & laughs. When Gamecocks come to party a little rain doesn’t stop us!
The cheer leaders and Cocky lead us all in some spirit chants while the band set up on stage.
This is my favorite picture of the night – if you aren’t familiar with Gamecock football, this cheer is by far the most popular. Half of the crowd yells “Game” and the other half yells “Cocks”. And yes, it is as much fun as it sounds. Just look at this little future cheerleader – she’s screaming “GAME” as loud as her little lungs will let her. Now that’s a fan!
And then The Love Handles took the stage! These guys were AWESOME! They kept the crowd dancing and singing until 11pm.

I became a little obsessed with taking photos of their reflection on the wet stage – it was just too cool to pass up.![]()
Thanks to the Epicentre, Moe’s and the Charlotte Gamecock Club for an AWESOME night! Congrats to the team on bringing home the first “W” over ECU Saturday and Go Gamecocks!!
