NoDa Engagement Session – Valentina & Toby

What do you get when you combine 21 mph winds, the historic arts district and two love birds?  An AWESOME (and slightly windy) engagement session in NoDa!  I absolutely adore NoDa.  It’s one of the few places in town that is just oozing with character.  Valentina & Toby spent the first 6 months of their relationship in NoDa, so it made perfect sense for us to take advantage of all this area had to offer for their engagement session.  And let me just say this – there’s nothing that I love more than people in love.   Well, maybe shooting people in love.   It’s one of those awesome perks of being a photographer.  Our first stop was Crepe Cellar, where they had their first date… (insert “awwww” here)

The firemen at Station 7 in NoDa are so cool.  I think they were just as excited about us shooting at their station as we were about the fact that they said we could snap a few shots.  Pure awesomeness.

My favorite abandoned building in NoDa has been torn down!  I couldn’t believe it, but since we were on that side of the tracks we decided to put the tracks to good use.And just about this time, the awesome yummy sunlight started to heat things up.
We grabbed the “girls” for a few family shots. Zoe & Zada – you totally rocked it!  I loved this shot both with and without the yummy sunlight.

Another family shot in the grass – It’s pretty clear that these 2 girls get zero love and are just miserable.
This was the first time I’ve included the Dog Bar in a NoDa session, and I loved it!  The girls were clearly right at home here, and we got to take advantage of some more of that yummy sunlight just before the basketball game started!
I’ve already said the thing about how I love people in love, right?  Right.  Just checking.
Valentina & Toby – I had such an awesome time with y’all in NoDa and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in May!  Best wishes for many more amazing days in your future!
