Any photographer will tell you that the best camera is the one you’ve got. You won’t always have your SLR or even your point and shoot available when a good moment happens, so the best way to capture that moment is with whatever you’ve got! For the past 4 months the 365 “best of” post has consisted of my favorite images from that month. Since we went on a cruise this month, there’s nothing that can possibly top those pics, so I decided to go a different route – “Mobile May.” My favorite shots taken with my cell phone. That’s right, I said cell phone. Not iPhone, not Droid, not Smart Phone – cell phone. I’ll be on the market for a major upgrade in September, but for now, I’ve just got a plain ole 2008 cell phone. But like I said, it doesn’t matter, because when you’re in a public restroom and see a sign that says “Help us Help U Flush” a plain ole 2008 cell phone will do just fine.
Now the funny part about mobile pictures is that usually there’s a story behind them. If the moment were beautiful and self-explanatory, I’d probably have the SLR with me. So sometimes I find myself looking back through mobile shots and literally laughing out loud at the random moments I shared with my plain ole 2008 cell phone. Instead of explaining these, I thought I’d let them stand on their own, and if you don’t laugh, you might at least catch yourself staring at the computer screen thinking OMG – what and why does this picture even exist?
