After my first meeting with Lora, Ryan and Grace I walked away remembering 2 things: 1) These two genuinely just want to be married and live life as husband & wife and 2) Grace has wonderful taste in shoes. :-)
They met online and knew really quickly that things were going somewhere good. After a few months they decided that getting married was a no-brainer. The only problem – the wedding just can’t get here fast enough. I’ve never met a couple more excited to be married than Lora & Ryan. Lots of couples are excited about getting married, planning the wedding, etc. But Lora & Ryan were actually more excited about being married. Not the wedding day itself, but what comes after that, just being together and living life. And you could feel it all day long. No one was stressed or nervous, everyone was just smiling, happy and eager to say “I Do.” I loved every minute around these two. Beautiful people, and now a beautiful family and I couldn’t be happier for them.
The day started with Lora and Grace getting ready at her parent’s house. I walked in at 8:00 am to a room full of Aunts and family friends and I immediately felt totally at home. It felt like I’d known her family for years. I could tell that it was going to be a wonderful day.
Beautiful shoes, beautiful dress, and I LOVE that Lora went with a tea length dress. Perfect.
Love the inscription on Lora’s ring box: “Grow old with me, the best is yet to be! Love Always, Ryan”
Sarah (next door neighbor) and Aunt Pat were in charge of flowers and they did an AMAZING job. Sarah handled all of the arrangements and Aunt Pat handled the flowers for Lora & Ryan. These are all literally fresh flowers picked from their garden – love it! Hydrangeas and sunflowers are officially in my top 3 favorite wedding flowers, and if Sarah is there to make the arrangements they are in my top 2. :-)
Grace’s flower girl basket was easily the prettiest I’ve ever seen. There was a long walkway, so she needed lots of flowers. :-)
LOVE this bouquet – so perfect for Lora and for the day.
A few last minute touches…
One of my most favorite “put the bride’s shoes on” pictures ever. :-) Grace & Mom both had blue toenails for the day, that was her “something blue.”
Ryan was one of the smileiest (is that a word?) grooms I’ve ever met. He was grinning from ear to ear all day long.
Their first look was easily one of my favorites. Awesome couple, great moment.
Lora’s necklace and earrings are from a strand of pearls that her Grandmother owned. They were absolutely beautiful – the perfect accessories.
The weather was PERFECT! Seriously, they couldn’t have ordered a more perfect Saturday. 75 and gorgeous on Lake Wylie!
The ceremony was officiated by Lora’s cousin Cindy and it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever seen. LOTS of tears but also plenty of laughs and smiles!
Ryan gave Grace a necklace and read a poem about how grateful he is that God blessed him with a daughter. Just in case there was still a dry eye in the house, this made sure all of the tissues were in use!
The sand ceremony is one of my favorite wedding ceremonies, and for this threesome it was just perfect.
Tears were still flowing as they walked down the aisle, and they quickly turned into a family hug. Wow. Possibly my most favorite wedding moment, ever.
Back home for the reception, Lora’s Dad gave an awesome toast. Grace had to help a little bit with the details. :-)
Aunt Pat had a few more flowers up her sleeve with the cake came out and I was blown away. So simple, so perfect. This lemon raspberry cake from Tizzerts was a HUGE hit!
Lora & Ryan – Thank you SO MUCH for asking me to be a part of your wedding day. I had such a wonderful time and I was honored to share these memories with you!
