The heat index last Saturday was 105 degrees in Charleston, SC, but not even the humid southern heat could dampen the blue skies and bright smiles. Dottie & Angela were surrounded by friends and family that were radiantly happy for them. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this much love in one place. They wrote their own vows (appropriately filled with references to FaceBook and Angelina Jolie).
And at the end of the sunset ceremony at Dunes West, the bridal party broke it down with a choreographed dance to the Black Eyed Peas.
There’s nothing like the perfect combination of tears, laughter and dancing to make a wedding memorable. I was so thrilled to shoot this wedding with Tish Mackay Photography. We left smiling from ear to ear on such an emotional high from this amazing ceremony.

I’m a HUGE fan of all flip flops, and a Charleston wedding wouldn’t be complete without them. Nothing says South Carolina like a good pair of flip flops….![]()

Angela was a BEAUTIFUL bride, but the one thing I loved more than her smile was her personality – even though she was melting, we laughed through the entire day.

Like I said, this was a fun group to shoot….![]()

Um, did I mention cupcakes??? TWELVE different kinds of cupcakey goodness – YUM!!!![]()

Time to walk down the aisle!

I LOVE this expression when Angela realized it was almost her turn to head down the aisle….

The lighting was just PERFECT and by this time, the heat index was down to a balmy 92, but look at that view!![]()

I loved this huge tree – it arched over the entire ceremony like a canopy – beautiful!

Caught this glance during one of the readings – next to the definition of”happiness” in the dictionary is this photo.![]()

After a few tears the wedding party breaks it down…..”Tonight’s gonna be a good night – oh tonight’s gonna be a good, good niiiiight”…..![]()

All smiles!![]()

A few post-ceremony pics before the party begins…

Nothing like a little post-ceremony brotherly love….

You can always count on brothers to get the party started off right…

Dottie & Angela requested “LOTS” of dancing pics and after about 2 songs it was clear that this crowd knew how to have a good time!

After lots of dancing, way too many cupcakes and smiling so hard our cheeks hurt, this amazing evening wrapped up with a great send off!

Dottie, Angela & Tish Mackay Photography – thank you SO much for letting me be a part of this amazing day. I had an absolute BLAST! Here’s to many, many more great years together!
